L.L.Bean is continuing to expand its retail footprint with a new store that opened in May and three others scheduled to open this fall.
According to a news release, the store locations are:
Ulster Crossing in Ulster, New York, which opened on May 10.
Silver Spring Square in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
Brookside Plaza in Enfield, Connecticut.
Rivers Edge in Indianapolis, Indiana.
So far the new Ulster store has exceeded sales projections with more than 25,000 customers, demonstrating the importance of brick-and-mortar in the company’s omnichannel growth strategy.
L.L.Bean opened four stores last year – two in the U.S. and two in Canada through its licensing and operating partner Jaytex Group. In 2025, the company plans to add more stores in the Southeast and Midwest, and it is still completing its $50 million renovation of its flagship campus in Freeport, Maine. It currently operates 57 stores in 19 states, 22 stores in Japan and 13 stores in Canada.
“As we continue to increase our retail presence in 2024, we’re strategically positioning L.LBean for sustained growth, ensuring that we continue to reach more customers in more geographies,” said Stephen Smith, the company’s president and CEO, in a statement.
“This expansion plan will not only strengthen our national footprint, but it is also a pivotal step in reinforcing L.L.Bean’s position as a leader in the retail space and outdoor industry.”
