Revolutionary Nuyarn Spinning Technology Elevates Performance, Comfort and Durability Across ARTILECT’s Fall ‘21 and Spring ‘22 Apparel and Accessories

BOULDER, Colo. – June 29, 2021 – ARTILECT®, a new action/outdoor brand, and TMC Ltd, owner of Nuyarn, are proud to be collaborating to design a wide range of technical apparel and accessories using the groundbreaking and industry-first Nuyarn, a proprietary spinning technology that creates new possibilities for developing first-to-market performance fabrics and products. 

Nuyarn is the foundation for ARTILECT’s Fall 2021 launch collection of baselayers, midlayers and accessories, each designed for a different need from ultra-warm for the coldest of days to lightweight performance pieces built for four-season activity and comfort. For Spring 2022, the ARTILECT team is tapping the unique potential of Nuyarn to create a range of all-new warm-weather fabrics, integrating Nuyarn’s proven merino technology with banana fibers, Tencel and a performance cotton / merino blend with 100% natural fibers. Each of the 2022 performance Nuyarn blends will offer a different set of performance benefits and feel.

First introduced in 2013, Nuyarn has built a cult-like fanbase among those who’ve experienced the difference found in its patented ultralight, high-performance stretch merino fabrics. By drafting fibers along a high-performance filament, the Nuyarn structure amplifies the fiber’s natural properties, resulting in a compelling set of attributes proven by New Zealand’s AG Research, including 5x faster dry time, substantially greater durability, 53% reduced wind permeability (with incredible breathability, absorbing moisture from vapor), and 35% more loft allowing for more thermal efficiency at lighter weights, as compared to 100% ring spun merino wool fabrics. And as a mechanical process vs. chemical additive, the benefits of Nuyarn remain for the entire lifetime of the product, including the natural odor-resistant benefits of Australian merino wool.
